To Heaven and Back
I love being a mom. Being a mom changed my life for the better. In my case, it led me to extreme highs and lows, VERY challenging and beautiful things at the same time. I had my first son Matteo shortly after meeting my husband. (but) our story was not easy, because at 4 months he was diagnosed with a degenerative genetic disease, called Leukodystrophy AGS and they gave him one or two years to live.
But I never accepted that diagnosis as a fatality and together we enjoyed and fought FOR six beautiful and hard years. My son was wise and pure, like few beings in this world and he gave me a little of that wisdom as he passed through my life.
Matteo passed away in the peace of our home, in our arms, a year and eight months ago. Of course it has been very painful and has marked our lives forever. There is a before and after.
Everything changed since he left the other side of the veil. In order to heal and go through that pain and that immense love that still unites us, I took 2 years to write a book called “To Heaven and Back".
